We have a great opportunity for Java J2EE/Oracle Support Engineer.
Role and responsibilities:
Ensure optimum performance and stability for multiple systems for Finance and Global product portfolio strategy for AstraZeneca Operations, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue
Monitor production system to ensure it is operating in a manner consistent with Service Level Agreements (SLA’s)
Provide 2nd/ 3rd line support (technical queries, bug fixes and small enhancements relating to application and platform), complying with Astra Zeneca standards, change control procedures
Take ownership of issues through to delivery or issue resolution or escalation, as appropriate
Support development activities by helping in code build and deployment, tool configuration, management and administration, application environment set up, change and release management
Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups
Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams
Liaise with multiple stake holders including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvements
5-6 years of experience in development and support activities
Expert in Oracle PL/SQL
Good Knowledge in Java
Basics in UNIX
Excellent verbal and written communication is required- 80% english
Exposure to ITIL Framework, understanding of incident, problem, change and release management process
Bug-fix and development experience on web and standalone applications built on Java/J2EE technologies
Understanding of JAVA Web Services
Experience working on IT Service management tools like Service Now, Remedy or Service Manager
Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to multiple systems and support multiple business groups and applications
