Global Operations Quality is undergoing a capability uplift in Data Analytics and Business Intelligence. This includes development of Operations Quality wide data warehousing and Advanced Analytics platform technologies.

This uplift is designed to drive focused insight to enable a step change towards higher-quality and more predictive decisions based on integrated data as a foundation across our global Quality Business Processes.

The Data Analyst will be member of the Corporate Quality Business Intelligence Team, generating data and insight to support focused quality improvement across global Operations Sites and Business Process Networks.

The Role

The role holder should deliver tangible and measurable value to Global Operations Quality by taking a technical role in the delivery of data mining, data query and data analysis, providing meaningful, actionable conclusions back to senior business leaders. They will undertake a range of activities including business analysis requirements, D&A solution architecture, agile project leadership, and importantly data analytics.

The Data Analyst will identify opportunities for innovation in their delivery, leveraging technology and methodology best practices externally and internally to improve delivery performance and team capabilities. They will support both project and ad hoc data analysis requests in addition to supporting wider Operations Quality re-use of data services and assets. They will work with Business Analysts, Business Process Owners and the wider Operations IT to deliver improved analytics capabilities to the business.

Data Scope: Operation Quality Business Processes, Compliance, Batch Release, Regulatory, Financial, Safety data

Key Accountabilities

  • Provide business intelligence to drive and support Quality Improvement Strategy and work closely with Global Quality Leaders and Global Business Process Owners to ensure that the insight is used to inform planning and implementation

  • Processing data and integrating systems

  • Effectively evaluate and analyse data

  • Identify, locate and utilise the most appropriate inputs in terms of data/information

  • Ensure that company data is recorded accurately and is correct

  • Work as part of a team to evaluate and analyse key data that will be used to shape future business improvement strategies

  • Perform regular stakeholder engagement to promote data driven decision making and wider uplift of data literacy across the organisation

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • Maths, Science or similar degree BSc

  • Experience of extraction and manipulations of large datasets

  • Background in Statistical Analysis, including Statistical Process Control & Hypothesis testing

  • Good Business Acumen

  • Excellent Stakeholder engagement & Communication skills - an ability to make the complex simple

  • Experience of data extraction and manipulation techniques

  • Experience working with large volumes of data and databases, ensuring quality, integrity and accuracy of data

  • Strong experience in excel

  • Strong experience of statistical software

  • Strong experience of visualising complex data to provide clear messages

Preffered Skills & Knowledge

  • Advanced degree MSc / PhD

  • Lean / Six Sigma accreditation (Green Belt / Black Belt)

  • Experience of Minitab

  • Experience of SQL

  • Experience of R, Python or SAS programming
