As a Market Delivery Leader in Wilmington, DE, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.

North American Commercial is the ‘face’ of AstraZeneca and MedImmune to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for ensuring promotional assets are delivered on-time and at the highest quality, continually fine-tune and update our systems and processes, proactively address problems/challenges with delivery, and identify opportunities for improving delivery metrics.

This role is part of the Production and Delivery team within AstraZeneca’s Global Commercial Operations Group, the Market Delivery Leader will be responsible to:

  • Manage delivery team to performance management goals

  • Manage a culture of continuous improvement by continually fine-tuning and updating systems and processes

  • Ensure delivery processes are in place for each of the relevant asset types

  • Drive flawless quality form our Preferred Production Supplier partners

  • Ensure operations activities are delivered within an agreed budget and timeline

  • Educate and communicate the lead times for each activity throughout the business

  • Manage delivery team resource needs

  • Increase speed to market through delivery and execution efficiencies without compromise to quality or cost:

  • Reduce rounds of QC and rework of our production and creative agency partners

  • Determine areas of established timelines that can be positively affected by the delivery model on AZ platforms (i.e. Global Digital Delivery, Open Digital and Veeva)

  • Determine areas where the delivery model business/process can be improved upon

Leadership Skills

  • Proven teamwork, coaching and leadership experience while working in a delivery or production team environment

  • The ability to motivate people

  • Ensure the team has the necessary skills and training to perform their job effectively

  • Good “people skills” for building relationships at all levels

  • The ability to plan and prioritize your own work and other people’s

Project Management

  • Proven ability to develop and manage process across digital and static workflows

  • Understanding of MS Project or other PM tools/programs

  • Ability to lead a large team through various levels of change

  • Ability to influence customers with and without authority

Internal and External Contacts/Customers

  • Internal Customers: Brand Teams, Platforms and Process Teams, Regulatory and Compliance Teams, Multi-channel Relationship Marketing Teams and Finance Teams

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree; preferably in a relevant field

  • 3+ years marketing and/or advertising agency experience (production environments preferred)

  • Project management experience

  • Budget management experience

Desirable Requirements:

  • 3+ years of pharmaceutical or related experience preferred

  • Experience in managing complex projects

  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, leadership and facilitation skills

  • Successful record at developing people
