As a Forecasting Analyst, Center of Excellence in Wilmington, DE, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. North American Commercial is the ‘face’ of AstraZeneca and MedImmune to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

The Forecasting Analyst, Center of Excellence will report directly to the Forecasting Excellence Director.This role will be responsible for providing support for the Center of Excellence, including creating statistical baselines across the portfolio, analyzing forecast and financial submission accuracy, and supporting to individual brands as needed. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are required. Effective written, verbal and presentation skills are a must, along with a drive for continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.These factors are the keys for success in this position.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop statistical baseline models across the portfolio to evaluate MLF and RBU demand and sales forecast trends

  • Perform regular analysis on various metrics such TRx volume, market share, business seasonality and inventory for use in upcoming forecasts

  • Design new metrics and prepare reports to monitor forecast and financial submission accuracy

  • Manage the US forecast COE usage of the V4CAST platform, to include support to the Regional Demand lead

  • During peak forecast demand periods, provide brand specific forecast support across TA’s in support of financial submissions

  • Assist forecasters for all assigned COE processes with help of various forecasting norms and business intelligence

  • Provide ad hoc forecasts and analysis and prepare archive reports as requested to assist management decisions

  • Create appropriate materials for communicating portfolio risk and forecasting accuracy to business leaders

  • Maintain Center of Excellence materials and documentation in the shared file repository

  • Assist Forecasting Excellence Director in coordination with and communication to Forecasting Team

  • Support Forecasting Excellence Director in development and delivery of key Center of Excellence programs

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 2+ years in pharmaceutical industry

  • 3+ years of analytical/modeling experience (e.g. forecasting, brand analy

  • 1+ years of forecasting experience

Preferred Background:

  • Advanced degree in relevant fields (e.g., math/statistics, operations research, life sciences, MBA) or equivalent work experience

  • Expertise in probability and statistics with strong background in Excel-based tool development

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills with statistical modeling experience (time series expertise preferred)

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple business leaders across diverse functions

  • Demonstrated success in translating analytical results into concise, actionable insight and recommendations

  • Thorough understanding of relevant pharma secondary data sources (e.g., NPA, NSP, DDD, Xponent)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; consultative background preferred with a proven ability to work in a collaborative and influencing fashion that drives to business action

  • Ability to manage and lead projects across multiple brands simultaneously
