We are seeking an experienced and professional Site Director - Facilities to lead the strategic and operational delivery of site requirements for the AstraZeneca site in Warsaw. This may include development of projects for new building/office space and working with the Site Leadership to agree and implement strategy.

In 2011 the Global Clinical Research Centre was introduced in Warsaw one of 6 in the world, and in 2016 we saw Finance and HR introduce centralized EMEA support offices. The site has nearly doubled in size over the last few years, now employing 1300 FTE, and is only set to grow further.

The Warsaw Site Director serves as the operational lead for the AstraZeneca Warsaw site (both strategy and execution). As a member of the Site Leadership Team (SLT), they will lead a cross-functional team including both direct and indirect team members, across all Warsaw functions to agree and implement the strategic plans to make the Warsaw site one of the best R&D and delivery sites in the world.

This is a critical appointment and this individual will be expected to play a strategic role in proactively and optimally applying knowledge, strategies, innovation, operations, and resources to address current and future needs for the site.

As a senior leader within AstraZeneca’s organization, the Warsaw Site Director will interact with the company’s key stakeholders to understand where there are unmet expectations and to shape the strategies to address these expectations both short and longer term in a very innovative, proactive and efficient way. It is a role with significant exposure to key internal and external stakeholders.

You will play a critical role in making the Warsaw site a great place to work in terms of scientific leadership, attracting and recruiting top talent and having a vibrant workforce.

As Site Director you will report to the Site Leader and be key to the site leadership team, and oversee the overall strategic plan for the Warsaw site and ensure effective and efficient execution of the plan.

You will be responsible for driving the Warsaw site reputation both internally and externally. This includes services both inhouse and outsourced to ensure the smooth running of the site.

You will be supporting internal infrastructure in building a great place to work in terms of car fleet, facilities, IT etc and ensuring that employee communication is clear and supportive.

Your approach will be proactive, customer focused and collaborative leading, driving and building a world class site by leveraging capability and talent in the organisation.

Although this is a predominately a country based role there is also a global scope and external focus so you will be expected to travel globally around 10% of the time.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong track record of success and innovation, and with demonstrated affinity for science and project management.

  • Strong career progression indicating the potential for a more senior position

  • Demonstrated strategic leadership and judgment. Possesses the confidence to operate effectively at senior levels with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Direct experience leading cross functional teams with excellent results in execution and delivering results

  • Proven ability to shape teams or organizations in a positive way – in response to internal or external challenges.

  • Commitment to attracting talent and developing employees to achieve their full potential.

  • Prior experience in a global organization

  • Ability to engage and influence cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.

  • Fluent English – oral and written
