Function / Team / Location

  • R&D -> GMD -> Biometrics & Information Sciences > Programming -> Standards & Business Solutions -> Business Solutions

  • Biometrics & Information Sciences (B&I) drives good design to generate data needed for quality decision making. B&I’s goal is to deliver value to the pipeline by excellence in delivery, improving decision making, and engaging and shaping the external environment whilst accessing and implementing innovative solutions.

  • Programming is the department that oversees and delivers the programming aspects of clinical drug development, manages and maintains the end-to-end standards and manages and maintains the Analysis and Reporting production tools and the information infrastructure.

  • Standards & Business Solutions (SBS) is the business unit that develops and maintains end-to-end clinical data standards, leads and contributes to B&I’s process and infrastructure initiatives, and provides cross-TA Biometrics deliverables, resources, and support to late-stage drug project teams.

  • Business Solutions is the area that delivers cross-TA business solutions to B&I.

Candidate Focus & Challenge

  • Deliver services across drug projects (tasks include but not limited to)

  • Information management in MLCS

  • Randomization support for studies in GRAND

  • Administration of roles in BLUR tool

  • Data de-identification using BLUR Tool

  • Data Mapping in data visualization tool (i.e. REACT)

  • Document Management as per applicable SOPs

  • Contribute to development and delivery of business processes and associated training

  • Create and maintain Knowledge management articles for cross training within Business Solutions team

  • Collect and maintain data for business-defined metrics

  • Collaboration and engagement across global and functional boundaries with customers & stakeholders

  • Participate in activities associated with audits and regulatory inspections in conjunction with study teams, Global Compliance, and other stakeholders

  • Suggest process improvement solutions by analysing current processes

  • Contributes to development of best practice to improve quality, efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Ensures adherence to all applicable AstraZeneca and external requirements.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • BSc in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or life or social sciences.

  • Work experience in clinical drug development or healthcare preferred

  • Exposure to sharing knowledge/ information and training curriculum development and delivery

  • Able to demonstrate team working and role appropriate leadership skills.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Exposure to metrics data collection and reporting

  • Understanding of the clinical study and drug development process and GCP/ICH guidelines

  • Computer proficiency; preferably programming experience or programming aptitude

  • Exposure to one of the programming languages/ analysis tools eg. SAS, S-PLUS, R, SPOTFIRE, D3 etc preferred
