AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals LP Sr Mgr, Communications in Shanghai, China


This position is responsible for external communications. It is the key driver to develop external communication strategy, corporate branding management, crisis/issue management, media strategy and supervise execution.


Communication strategy development 15%

  • Develop external communication strategy aligned with overall communication strategy

  • Initiate key programs and action plan based on the strategy

Corporate Branding Management 5%

  • Appropriately position the AZ Branding in China and work on improving/sustaining AZ’s Image

  • Well communicate AZ branding in China through various channel

  • Make sure AZ branding well position through out all channels including offices, official collaterals and so on based on global guideline

Corporate PR programs 40%

  • Initiate and manage all corporate projects and executives’ programs

  • Partnering with global communication team on news generation and executive visits etc.

  • Manage and further develop company materials package (brochure, internet, video, branding identity)

  • Award management and promotion

  • Lead the team to manage and implement the PR related programs

Social media/digital platforms management 20%

  • Develop social media strategy and content calendar in corporate wechat

  • Maintain and regularly update content in all corporate channels

Corporate issue/crisis management 10%

  • Develop corporate issue mapping

  • Support function head to manage corporate issue/ crisis

  • Issue/crisis SOP and media policy training in support functions

  • Media monitoring and issue alert

Media Relations 5%

  • Develop China media strategy and programs

  • Maintain media database

  • Initiate and manage media co-operation programs

  • Plan and organize media events

PR agency management and outcome control 5%

  • Choose and evaluate a PR agency by pitch according to PR objective

  • Cooperate with PR agency on modifying strategy, program design, details communication

  • Budget review and control

  • KPI setting and review

  • Feedback from stakeholders on agency’s service
