Main Duties and Responsibilities:
External Medical & Scientific engagement
1) Build, enhance and maintain the engagement with scientific leaders, nurses and allied healthcare professionals
60% of time engaging patients, nurses, pharmacists, physicians and nurse educators across territory and brands relevant to scope of PAP
Identifying key stakeholders in the patient management flow and collaborating on AstraZeneca driven patient programs
Develop and implement AstraZeneca Patient Affordability Programs (PAPs) across screening, enrolment, monitoring and reporting phase.
Screening Phase & Enrolment Phase:
Receiving and responding to patient access to PAPs from healthcare professionals. To ensure patient confidentiality, all documentation must be governed with accordance to Malaysian Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and SOPP: AZMY-P01-XX-XX (TBC)
Enter patient details into record log
Ensure doctor and patient consent form is obtained from relevant stakeholders.
Track patients’ dosing schedule and send timely reminders to patients on their medication and to coordinate patient redemption details.
Monitoring and Reporting Phase:
Prepare monthly tracking reports or as required during implementation of the PAP
Manage safety reporting during implementation phase of the PAP
Initiate exit strategy for the patient in the event patient is unable to continue on the program due to clinical decisions or otherwise
To document and archive close out accordingly.
2) Develop or initiate Affordability programs to explore unmet medical needs in priority disease area(s)
Work with healthcare professionals in scientific activities that help bridge AstraZeneca compounds to patients by:-
Exploring commercialized compounds of AstraZeneca that have an unmet need to provide access and affordability to patients
Identify potential affordability programs that grant access to patients to AstraZeneca compounds as appropriate.
Develop and implement patient affordability programs by providing necessary information and expertise to external stakeholders and partner with individuals or groups in effective implementation
Medical & Scientific Support for internal stakeholders
1) Continuously demonstrate development of scientific expertise in disease area(s) of company focus
Attend relevant local scientific congresses and HCP meetings to gather new knowledge on AZ compounds, competitor information and therapeutic area
Positive engagement and response to coaching and feedback received from Line Manager
In daily work takes time to reflect on customer interactions and works on areas agreed with Line Manager as priorities for development. Develop functional capability in the role
Proactively demonstrate the AZ Values
Identify areas for self-development and discuss developmental needs with Line Manager using the 70-20-10 principle (experiential learning, coaching/networking/relationship-based learning and class room training)
Active participation in AZ training, projects, and meetings depending on development needs
Keep regular update and operate within the relevant Codes of Conduct, Ethical Interactions (EI), including GPEI and SOPs
Be sure to understand AZ policies when engage to KOLs and external stakeholders
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and having relevant professional body registration
Thorough knowledge or experience of the patient journey in healthcare ecosystem
Ability to interact and manage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally
Knowledge of legislation relevant to pharmaceutical sales and marketing
Advanced scientific degree and experience as Nurse in clinical practice or in industry
Understanding of interplay by multiple stakeholders within healthcare landscape and ecosystem
Project and team management experience
