As a Market Access Manager in AstraZeneca, you will be supporting Head of Market Access to lead the market access strategy for the tasked business/therapeutics in a compliant friendly manner. Frequently review all the policy governing drug access in MoH environment in the best interest of AZ, and advice the Country Leadership team on unmet opportunities. Actively, engage internal and external stakeholders including payers in developing long term partnership for a sustainable healthcare and patient program with the aim of improving access of AZ brands in accordance with local compliance, legal and regulatory guidelines.
Continuously act as an advocate in the access topics for internal stakeholders on pharmaceutical – Pricing & Reimbursement; Hospital Formulary Listing, Public Policy; and Health Technology Assessments/Pharmaco-economics. Ensure all market access business cases, either for price, programs and policy amended to be approved by AZ Area, International and Global. Finally, to be part of player in Market Access team in shaping the local organisation to have a “Access Mindset”.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Your job responsibilities will be, but not limited to:
Develop and implement Market Access Strategy
Develop and implement market access strategy plans and actions to increase patient access.
Work with government & commercial functions on a regular basis to capture latest update on industry and healthcare development.
Maintain relationship with government key payers.
Leverage understanding of healthcare environment and work with medical/commercial functions to develop business plans that take full account of and respond to the needs of policy and budget holders, creating a positive platform for AstraZeneca and its brands.
Stakeholder mapping (e.g. government, hospital, HCO, KEE) with appropriate engagement plan to achieve strategic goals
Make appropriate interactions with independent review bodies, government stakeholders, budget holders to support economic and policy decision making for AZ products and indications
Work with government & commercial functions on a regular basis to capture competitor intelligence, discuss tactics and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
Support the development of pricing strategy for reimbursement plan for the government sector .
Determines contracting/managed entry agreement price including risk sharing arrangements, capping, discounting, etc.
Develops and executes reimbursement support and patient assistance services to ensure patient access to products.
Reviews contracting opportunities for risk and compliance, from a financial and legal perspective.
Anticipate how changes in the policy environment will shape payer decisions and use this to inform and develop Market Access strategy.
Public / Government Affairs & Advocacy
Engage with policymakers and others who legitimately influence the process to shape public policy to delivery AstraZeneca’s strategic priorities and achieve commercial success.
Contribute to shaping future changes in the healthcare environment to positively shape the payer environment so that patients have access to AstraZeneca products.
Communicates outcomes and pricing decisions with the payers and governments.
Forms or aligns with patient groups for effective reimbursement strategies.
Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR)
Generates evidence, including value story and value dossier development.
Performs / Analyses health technology assessment.
Analytics & Real World Evidence Support
Works closely with Medical Department in analysing clinical data prospectively and retrospectively post launch to generate “real world evidence” and value for money.
Bachelor degree in relevant field, preferably life science-related
Minimum 3-6 years of successful track record in market access / marketing
Direct experience working with access-related strategies and topics is strongly preferred, e.g., pricing, reimbursement, patient advocacy, public policy, etc
Good understanding of the latest development in the National Healthcare System and its impact on the Pharmaceutical Industry
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding objectives and goals
Good consulting skills and proven track record of helping clients address strategic opportunities and solve problems
Good communication, presentation & facilitation skills
Strong customer orientation/focus
Strong interpersonal & partnering skills: has proven abilities to work effectively and efficiently in cross-functional, often virtual and matrix teams
English & BM proficiency.
Prior industry and/or Market Access experience is desirable
Candidate with more experiences will be considered for senior position
