We are currently seeking enthusiastic, motivated and highly capable individuals to join the crystallisation community within Chemical Development, responsible for the development of processes to Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API).

Develop new crystallisation and isolation methods to meet exacting purity requirements with regard to existing and emerging information about polymorphism and solvates.
Provide expert advice to colleagues in development of crystallisation processes as an integral part of synthetic route development
Work collaboratively with colleagues in Drug Product Development to define desired particle properties for formulation and bioavailability
Design and develop controlled crystallisations to give particles with desired properties
Work collaboratively with internal and external manufacturing partners to ensure successful scale-up and scale-out of crystallisation processes.
Solve problems, for example on established processes for making existing products, in close collaboration with manufacturing partners.
Continuously develop yourself and your colleagues via training and sharing learning experiences to improve our efficiency and effectiveness
Assess, review and report data from own work, with a clear understanding of its reliability and interprets findings and draws authoritative conclusions and recommendations so that their significance can be appreciated. Present information for discussion in multi-disciplinary project teams
Ensure own work is performed in accordance with appropriate Safety, Health & Environment (SHE), quality and compliance standards, e.g. Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
Work as a member of cross-functional teams, with a large degree of independence representing own department or area of expertise
Work collaboratively to develop and evaluate processes with regard to safety, economy, quality, health and environmental impact to ensure reproducibility, reliability and sustainability.
Contribute to the preparation of regulatory documentation
Increase influence within and outside their own departments
Required Skills & Knowledge
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering and relevant experience within the discipline
Enthusiasm for crystallisation process development in the laboratory
Practical experience in planning and carrying out experimental crystallisation studies
Clear and concise verbal and written reporting of scientific studies
Understanding of the principles and concepts of crystallisation
Experience of using CCDC software including Mercury
Experience of amorphous solid understanding and precipitation process development
Communicating the tenets of crystallisation science to non-specialists
