AstraZeneca’s Early Clinical Biometrics group are looking for talented experienced Data Management Experts to join their Clinical Trial Data Science group at AstraZenecas R&D site in Gothenburg, Sweden or Cambridge, UK.

We are currently looking for Data Management Expert to work at the heart of our Early Clinical Project Teams. As a Data Management Expert your proven data management expertise will be a key in supporting strategic, operational and standards aspects of Data Management.

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivery of high quality clinical data management via external partners.

  • Appraisal of risk based data science at vendors

  • Maintain a constant awareness of trends/changes in external data management strategies and technologies and advise management on areas of improvement

  • Review, access and manage data management delivery to relevant performance measures and drive continuous improvement

  • Strategic input to data management activities within and across therapeutic areas.

  • Ensure study teams utilize data collection standards

  • Lead, coordinate and ensure transparency and consistency of Project, Study and partner activities including providing partners with AstraZeneca project planning information (scheduling of the studies, volumes, timelines etc.)

  • Review and approval of study level data transmission agreements and related technologies

  • Working with external partners provide input to the production of the service orders and study costs for data management services where needed

  • Input to the data management related activities associated with regulatory inspections/audits in liaison with Clinical Quality Assurance

Essential requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in the life science, related subject or relevant experience.

  • Extensive experience from within the pharmaceutical industry or clinical research organization

  • Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and experience of aspects of Data Management

  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical data standards

  • Comprehensive knowledge of database structures and of capturing and storing clinical information

  • Experience in working successfully with external partners

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • A collaborative mind-set

  • The ability to drive innovations.
