The Director, Lung Cancer Customer & Disease Strategy will be responsible for executing an external strategic plan with key customers across the portfolio, including Tagrisso and Imfinzi, to position AstraZeneca (AZ) externally as a commercial leader in the treatment of lung cancer.
This position will report directly into the Franchise Head, EGFR, with a dotted line to the Franchise Head, Immuno-Oncology and will work in close partnership with cross functional partners including brand marketing, field sales, medical, market access and other functions in order to play a critical role in ensuring the franchise has a market leadership presence with key customers.
Responsible for leading and managing an HQ based (2) and field based Customer Marketing team (8)
Responsible for leading, developing and pulling through integrated and overall Lung customer strategy, engagement and execution plans in support of Astrazeneca’s leadership in Lung Cancer
Oversee integrated thought leader engagement, speaker bureau management, and disease education for Lung portfolio
Set direction for integrated execution of franchise strategic plans at national, regional, and local scientific meetings with aligned purpose
Collaborate closely with cross functional leadership (medical affairs and commercial) teams to strategically identify and prioritize market challenges/barriers and implement new solutions
Develop and execute integrated commercial advisory board plans for Lung to help inform brand strategies
Possess strong leadership, business acumen, and ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups
Strong previous expertise, experience and working understanding of thought leader engagement, customer strategy, disease education platforms/processes and lung cancer are critical for success
Inspire and lead innovation and synergies across teams to maximize team productivity and outcomes in support of overall Lung portfolio
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field
8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical and/or healthcare industry with experience in one or more of the following: managed markets, brand marketing, sales management, strategic planning
Oncology or specialty care experience
Previous management and leadership experience
Previous thought leader engagement experience and/or marketing experience
Be available to work some evenings and weekends
Overnight travel will be required
Expected travel up to 50% monthly
MBA in marketing or pharmaceutical marketing
Strong leadership skills; manager of 2nd Line leaders
Great communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders
Ability to strategically develop and gauge feasibility, impact and risks of proposed programs
Comfort operating in a highly regulated environment and industry
