As an R&D Chemist, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. North American Commercial is the 'face' of AstraZeneca and MedImmune to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities:

As a member of the R&D team contribute through creating SOP’s, GMP Research Protocols and Reports. Conduct various bench top and larger scale experiments for the preparation of inorganic materials in compliance with AZ, GMP & SHE standards.

  • Ethical conduct and compliance

  • Create and implement robust Standard Operating Procedures for the R&D group

  • Create GMP Research Protocols and Reports for the various research projects within the R&D group and process development

  • Supports other technical groups in design and implementation of various analytical identifications and characterization methods

  • Conducts various bench top and larger scale experiments for the preparation of inorganic materials

Required Qualifications:

  • BS or 5 years of experience in an R&D within a pharmaceutical context and in support of commercial operations.

  • Highly desired: scientific background in Inorganic Chemistry or Materials Science.

  • Knowledge of characterization techniques for solids, including X-ray powder diffraction.

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or FDA regulated company preferred

  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written.

  • Excellent presentation skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • MS degree

  • Experience in a pharmaceutical or FDA regulated company
