Ensures the overall health and wellness of the SAS GRID platforms
Designs, implements, and maintains platform security via SAS Metadata, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and LSF
Serves as an escalation point for escalated production and/or platform issues
Establishes best practices and guidelines for usage of the SAS platform
Required Skills & Experience:
Experience administering SAS platform in a multi-node GRID environment with Linux OS.
Hands-on experience as a SAS administrator of the 9.x suite in a Linux environment performing system monitoring, log analysis, performance analysis, performance tuning and capacity planning.
Must have experience with SAS Environment Manager and Platform RTM.
Experience with Security and Authentication and SSO topics (related to the access of source data, the access of data within SAS on the SAS servers across the different business organizations as well as SAS’ integration with tools such as Active Directory/LDAP/Kerberos.
Experience monitoring grid and make sure that nodes are balanced with SAS generated code running efficiently across grid
Working knowledge of LSF as it pertains to the SAS grid.
Knowledge of SAS configuration files such as autoexec, configuration and environment files.
Ability to install hot fixes, service packs, upgrades as well as add-on software components.
Be knowledgeable of Base SAS programming (DATA step), SQL programming (i.e., use of SQL pass-through or PROC SQL), as well as the SAS Macro language for use in understanding current code.
Be able to translate a customer’s business needs to a solution on the SAS GRID platform.
Acts as a SAS subject matter expert and be liaison to SAS users and IT.
Serves as an escalation point for production and/or platform issues and acts as lead liaison with SAS Technical Support to resolve outstanding issues within the SAS environments.
Collaborates with storage, server, LDAP, database and other IT administrators to support ongoing operations for meeting the business needs via the SAS environment.
Be able to generate written documentation of all work performed
Have a customer-focused demeanor, effective oral and written communication skills
Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production issues
Assisting in development/maintenance of process automation
Superior customer service skills
Familiarity with Unix shell scripting and SAS Macro facility
Ability to multi-task and address complex support issues in a mixed technology environment
Desired Skills & Experience:
RHEL Linux administrator experience is a plus
Citrix administration experience is a plus
Netapp administration experience is a plus
Experience with Hadoop stack, preferably with Cloudera CDH is a plus
Experience with Hue, Hive, Impala and SQL Databases is a plus
