ROLE : Support Analyst

  • Ensure optimum performance and stability for multiple systems for the SEUIT function in AstraZeneca, including providing workarounds and identifying areas for improvement or solutions to permanently address the issue.

  • Responsible for execution of all IT activities associated with the delivery of Support Activities, Projects and Programs. Strong Stakeholder communication at all levels is essential.

  • Provide 2nd/ 3rd line support (technical queries, bug fixes and small enhancements relating to application and platform), complying with Astra Zeneca standards, change control procedures

  • Take ownership of issues through to delivery or issue resolution or escalation, as appropriate

  • Support development activities by helping in build, deployment, tool configuration management and administration, application environment set up, test case execution, change and release management

  • Develop specialist knowledge in relevant systems, documenting and sharing that knowledge, as required, with global teams

  • Liaise with multiple stake holders including users, infrastructure/middleware teams, 3rd party software vendors for resolving issues and potential process improvements

  • Strong experience in Service Delivery with adherence to Standard Support Processes and Support Metrics. Responsible for the delivery of IT services to the agreed E2E service levels (SLA)

  • Ensure that the application operates within and complies with any regulatory, financial or internal AstraZeneca standards (GxP, SOx).


  • Proficient in Support and Maintenance (L2/L3 support) of off –the-shelf and custom applications (COTS) and .NET applications

  • Sound knowledge in MS SQL and scripting languages (VBA, Javascript), XML, HTML concepts

  • ITIL V3 experience with good understanding of incident, problem, change and release management process and tools (Service now, Remedy)

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills


  • Familiarity with life sciences(Pharma) domain concepts, workflow and terminology

  • Understanding of GXP guidelines and compliance processes

  • Mindset to support business critical applications

  • Outstanding communicator and relationship builder with an ability to adapt to different communication styles


  • Keen to acquire new skills and work on emerging technology products

  • Must participate on call rotation with off hours support responsibilities

  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
