We have an exciting opportunity within the Cambridge Transition Communications Team for a Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of key outcomes for Communications

The role will have the following six objectives:

  1. Reporting to the Communications Director, as part of the Cambridge Transition Communications Team, responsible for internal communications initiatives telling the Cambridge Transition story to approx. 2,500+ Cambridge employees.

  2. Delivering forward-looking and tactical communications activities including writing across a broad spectrum of corporate and research & development subjects.

  3. Assisting in the support of day-to-day management, interaction and co-ordination of the programme and associated project and programme experts.

  4. Managing assigned tasks effectively and deliver required outcomes to meet prescribed deadline.

  5. Providing quality assurance for project documentation and processes and ensure alignment to company-wide systems.

  6. Perform as part of the existing programme governance structure, taking direction from Programme leads and relevant leadership teams as required.

You will be proven as a project coordinator, with a track record of delivering multi-stakeholder communications programmes. You will know exactly what is required to support project teams to deliver complex projects on time and within budget.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are a prerequisite for this role as you will be maintaining dialogue with senior business and scientific representatives, stakeholders and external contractors.

Key to this role will be the ability to operate through significant periods of ambiguity and uncertainty. The role is required to demonstrate a significant level of approachability and customer focus, it will demand strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create, develop and sustain strong relationships with project teams, peers and customers.

It is essential that the successful candidate evidences the capability to work collaboratively across multiple stakeholder groups and teams in delivery of a collegiate outcome.

This role will be required to deploy good negotiation skills to manage aspects of the programme that may not meet the approval of stakeholders or where there are differences of opinion between business units.


  • Project planning and development of materials for the communications programme

  • Schedule programme and project team meetings and workshops, facilitate preparation of meeting materials and provide logistical support for attendees – ensuring actions from meetings are followed up and work-stream activities are coordinated

  • Management of key stakeholders ensuring appropriate input to the operation of the Communications Team

  • Manage project folder structures, databases and document repositories

  • Facilitate the preparation of required documentation for tracking project and programme progression, budget and risks

  • Provide appropriate support and guidance to other project coordinators to maximise contribution

  • Ensure adherence to agreed programme and project quality standards

  • Manage iBuy including new vendor creation and appropriate invoice tracking and budget/invoice reconciliation

  • Provide administrative support as required to members of the programme i.e. diary management, arranging travel, expenses, etc.
